2018.4 (October 25, 2018)

Welcome to the 2018.4 release of iDev Studio. There are a number of updates in this version that we hope you will like, some of the key highlights include:

  • All data objects have new icons and column captions (primary key, foreign key, data type and nullable).
  • Visual data mapping technology has got a major update. There are new column captions, you can now search/filter columns and new dependency analyzer buttons are showing foreign key relations.
  • 10 new connections to databases are possible.

Business Glossary

Link Data Object dialog has new icons and column captions (primary key, foreign key, data type and nullable).

Codeset Editor

New databases are supported: Actian Zen, ElevateDB, MariaDB, Progress OpenEdge, SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise, SAP Advantage Database Server, SAP HANA, SAP IQ, SAP SQL Anywhere, SQLite.

Connection Explorer

iDev Studio ask you if you want to open a connection if you perform an action that requires a connection to a database.

Data Mapping

Visual Data Mapping Technology has been updated. Checkboxes are removed in data mapping object. New data mapping object column captions (primary key, foreign key, data type and nullable) are displayed. You can search/filter columns in data mapping object.

Dependency Analyzer has been updated. New dependency analyzer buttons in data mapping object are now showing foreign key relations for each column:

Add Profile Object dialog shows new icons and column captions (primary key, foreign key, data type and nullable).

Metadata Explorer

There are new icons and column captions (primary key, foreign key, data type and nullable).

The property window shows now multi-line text in the description property and a new constraints section displays foreign key relations.
